Peace Of CHRIST

Thought for the morning

John 14:27 Peace I leave with you, My peace I give to you; not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.

As I look back on some of these thoughts for the morning, I see I have focused on peace several times. Peace for our soul is the desire of all of us. We only have to look around us and we see there is no peace. We come into this world plagued with sin, which blocks the capability of real peace. The Lord Jesus said “Peace I leave with you, My peace I give to you”.  Peace is achieved through the winning of a battle!  The battlefield for our peace was fought and won on the Cross.

Psalm 29:11 11 The LORD will give strength to His people; The LORD will bless His people with peace.

Isaiah 53:5 5 But He was wounded for our transgressions, He wasbruised for our iniquities; The chastisement for our peace was upon Him, And by His stripes we are healed.

Romans 5:1 Therefore, having been justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ,

Colossians 1:19-20   For it pleased the Father that in Him all the fullness should dwell, and by Him to reconcile all things to Himself, by Him, whether things on earth or things in heaven, having made peace through the blood of His cross.

Today may I and each of us reflect and be joyful in the peace we have through Him. We were critically wounded by sin but healing has come through the Lord and we have peace.  By His stripes we are healed!  Just a thought for the morning.

Brothers and Sisters, Certainly the situation around us today is not one of peace.  Many are suffering and many have died throughout the world from this plague that has come among us.  But we are blessed by any inner peace that we have in Christ.
